If when there's a wind drought... you gotta see the glass half full! If you had wanted instant gratification you should have bought yourself a new watch instead! Just believe us when we say, even though wind-ridden satisfaction in Dubai may elude you this weekend, its surely just around the corner... And besides, somethings got to leave you hungry for the next session!
Ok, here's some tips for you first-timers, the wind forecast virgins...
First of all!
- Wind is messaged in Knots!
- The ideal wind range for kitesurfing in dubai is 13-20 knots!
- The direction is important!
- The wind will likely be more consistent, stable, and reliable if the directions holds all day. For kitesurfing in dubai the most reliable wind direction is a northerly.
- Never go out kitesurfing in an offshore wind!
If you look at the forecast below.. you can see a few things. Firstly, the wind on Monday 7th looks epic! The more reddish the colour, the stronger the predicted wind. Secondly, the direction is consistent... coming from the west all day long. This means the wind is likely to be strong and not too gusty... perfect conditions for taking a kitesurfing lesson or to go riding! By contrast, Wednesday doesn't look very good at all, even though the wind starts to blow from the north in the afternoon it is too weak.
